Dense moss coverage
2 April 2020Lawn Treatment Customer in Westella
9 April 2020The lawn was full of moss after an especially wet winter. The best practice is to treat the lawn in Autumn to prevent a build-up over Winter.
Tip 1:
For this treatment, an Iron-rich product is sprayed on to the lawn using a knapsack sprayer. I chose a still day with hardly any wind. Once the moss turns brown it will be time to scarify the Lawn.
Tip 2: Help the grass and not the moss!
Poor lawn maintenance alongside growing and weather conditions are often the most common causes of moss problems in the grass.
Good lawn practices, as well as ideal growing conditions, will inevitably lead to little or no moss. Encouraging gentle grass growth by using a fertiliser ideally 4 times per year and undertaking regular lawn maintenance will help prepare you grass for Summer and hopefully prevent moss growth.
